Silicone Mould – Dog Bone Tag (Matt)
If using Casting Resins, mix them well to remove as many air bubbles as possible then pour the resin slowly , ensuring it reaches all areas, and tap the mould gently on a flat surface to release any trapped air (ideally use a Handheld Blow Torch to remove any remaining airbubbles).
You may add Resin Pigments, Mica Glitters, and inclusions like dried flowers or Metallic Foil Flakes for additional detail.
For Polymer Clays like Das or FIMO , condition it by kneading until it is malleable, then press it evenly into the mould, avoiding air pockets.
After the material has fully cured or baked, flex the mould gently to release the pieces without causing distortion.
Complete the jewellery by sanding or polishing for a refined finish. Clean the moulds with warm water and mild soap to maintain them for future use. Silicone moulds enable jewellery makers to produce customised pieces efficiently, offering a wide range of creative possibilities.
Store moulds properly to ensure longevity and maintain their quality.
