Jasper, an aggregate of microgranular quartz and/or chalcedony and other mineral phases, is an opaque, impure variety of silica, usually red, yellow, brown or green in colour. Unlike agate, jasper is opaque and light does not shine through it. Jasper is usually multi-coloured, spotted or banded but uniform coloured jasper, such as this red jasper, does occur.

These stones have been fully tumbled to develop a smooth polished finish.

Red Jasper is a rich brick-red coloured stone. The colour is uniform and the stones do not have any other significant features. Some patches of dark and light grey appear on some stones but by far the dominant colour is always red.

The red colour of these stones is derived from the inclusion of iron (III) oxide (Fe₂O₃).

Small 2: Roundish stones 10-20mm with average length about 15mm.

All our products should be kept out of reach of children under 5 years and anybody who may tend to place items or liquids in their mouths should be supervised. Even packing can become a choking hazard.
