LifeCast BPB – 2kg offers a reliable, skin-safe solution for body casting and mold-making. This alginate-based material mixes easily at a ratio of 1 part powder to 4 parts water by weight—for example, 100g of powder with 400g of body-temperature water. Once mixed, the light blue powder turns purple, then reverts to blue when cured, indicating it’s ready for demoulding.

With water at 30°C, LifeCast provides a pot life of approximately 3 minutes and cures within 5 minutes. However, pot life and cure time may vary depending on ambient and material temperatures. For best results, always add powder to water and mix thoroughly. While a wooden stirrer works, a shear mixer attached to a variable-speed drill ensures optimal consistency.

Before molding, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the skin—especially over hair—to aid in easy release. After curing, pour your casting material into the mold promptly, as delays may cause water seepage. If needed, drain excess water before casting to preserve surface detail.

Take caution not to inhale the powder and flush eyes thoroughly if contact occurs.
