Glass etching paste is a chemical compound used to create decorative designs or patterns on glass surfaces through the process of etching.

Etching on glass involves creating frosted or translucent designs by removing minute amounts of glass from the surface. This is typically done by applying an etching solution, which eats away at the glass in a controlled manner.

This paste is a specialised formulation designed specifically for use on glass surfaces. It contains a strong acid, such as hydrofluoric acid, along with other chemicals to facilitate the etching process.

When applied to glass, the etching paste chemically reacts with the surface, creating a frosted appearance in the areas where it’s applied. This allows for the creation of intricate designs or patterns on glassware, windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces. The paste is usually applied using stencils to achieve precise designs, and after a certain amount of time, it’s washed off to reveal the etched pattern.

Directions: 

The glass surface needs to be very clean and dry or else the paste will not etch evenly. Use gloves to prevent oil from your fingers contaminating the surface of the glass.

Apply a generous quantity of etching paste onto the exposed/stencil area of the glass to be etched an leave on for approximately 3 minutes but not more than 5 minutes then rinse off with running water.

Shake well before use.
