  • A thermometer (optional)
Steps:
  1. Set up your double boiler by filling the bottom pot with 2–3 inches of water.
  2. Place the beeswax in the top pot or bowl.
  3. Heat gently over medium low heat. Let the water simmer, not boil.
  4. Stir occasionally to help the wax melt evenly.
  5. Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature. Beeswax melts at 62–64°C (144–147°F). Avoid exceeding 85°C (185°F).
  6. Once fully melted, remove from heat and pour immediately into moulds or containers.

  3. Place the jar/can directly into the water bath (never directly on the burner).
  4. Heat on medium-low, and allow the wax to melt slowly. Meanwhile, stir occasionally to ensure even melting..
  5. If possible, monitor the temperature carefully. Above all, never let the wax boil.
  6. Once melted, carefully remove the container using tongs or oven mitts.
  7. Pour immediately into molds or store for later use.
