A Tjanting Tool, a batik wax cup, is used for applying wax to fabrics or other surfaces.  Made of cast brass this spherical bowl keeps the wax liquid. The moment the spout touches the working surface, the wax starts flowing. This prevents the wax from dripping all over the fabric.
