Ferrite Block Magnets are composed of Barium or Strontium Ferrite. This class of magnet, aside from having good resistance to demagnetization, has the popular advantage of low cost.
Ferrite magnets can be used at fairly high temperatures, although their magnetic properties drop with temperature.
The corrosion resistance of Ferrite is considered excellent therefore no surface treatments are required. However, Ferrite magnets may have a thin film of fine magnet powder on the surface and for clean, non-contaminated applications, some form of a coating may be required.
Ferrite Block Magnets are useful for:
- craft projects
- fridge magnets
- science experiments
- school projects
