Description

What is tungsten carbide?

Tungsten Carbide is the same material used on saw blades and router bits for long life. The grit can not be removed; it is permanently bonded onto the cartridge. It will not tear or wear out and it requires less effort to use than traditional sandpaper.

Sanding tips

Start with coarse or medium grit first, then finish the job with fine grit until the desired smoothness is achieved. On bare wood, sand with the grain using straight, smooth strokes. When the carbide pad fills with sanding dust, clean the pad and continue sanding.

Cleaning instructions

Clean the carbide pad with a brass wire brush. For stubborn residue, brush with hot, soapy water. If the sander is used on painted, stained or varnished surface, an appropriate solvent may be necessary to remove residue from the carbide pad.

Safety information

Always wear safety glasses to avoid eye injury when sanding. Always use a dust mask or other means to prevent inhalation of sanding dust. The carbide pad may change colour with use, this is normal.
